Last weekend the University of Mississippi hosted a Greek Conference. About 80 students from the Southeast attended. Having a small conference on a college campus can be difficult logistically, but students loved it. The weekend was very laid back, but the talks and seminars were significant and challenging. One of the talks was based on the book of Esther. “And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this” (Esther 4:14). We are calling students to be used at such a time as this as well.
As a result of the weekend students are trusting God for: salvation of sorority sisters and fraternity brothers, for Bible Studies to be established in their Greek houses, for outreaches on campus to expose Greeks to the Gospel, and one girl is even planning on coming on staff with Crusade as a result of the weekend.
Student2Student
In the beginning of January, Campus Ministry unveiled a new evangelistic program nationally called Student2Student. What would happen if students joined together in concerted prayer and unified witness, trusting God for the privilege of leading at least one other person to Christ this school term? This is the vision of Student2Student.
Nationwide we are trusting God to move in mighty ways to see 50,000 students come to Christ this year. In the Southeast, at Christmas Conference, each student left with a plan to intentionally share and outreach to a group on their campus. They also left with a 15 day prayer guide casting vision for evangelism and seeking the Lord’s will as they step out in faith on their campuses. Please pray that students would continue to passionately embrace sharing their lives and the gospel with the lost, that they would move out of their comfort zones. Pray for the 35 students who have accepted Christ as a result of other student’s efforts in the past two weeks.
