Hello from Ft. Collins, CO! I’ve been out here for a month already, and its gone by so fast. As I said in my last letter, I’m making the transition from intern to full-time staff with Campus Crusade, and am in Colorado for New Staff training. Thank you so much for your prayers during this transition. They are greatly appreciated.
Each week out here has been very different from the one previous. I was very excited to be able to take classes out here on bible study methods and doctrine/theology. I thoroughly enjoyed those and feel like God has taught me so much and still has so much to teach me. A highlight from my doctrinal class was actually an assignment we were given. We were to complete three surveys with different people, asking questions about their religious background and about what their conceptions of Christianity are.
I was able to complete one of my surveys at an outreach put on by Campus Crusade’s music ministry, Keynote. While there, I ran into Amy. Amy is a grad student at Colorado State University and was open to talking. The survey we did with her actually acted as a simple transition to sharing the gospel with her. Amy listened carefully and asked lots of good questions. Though she came from a church background, Amy’s response was that she believed God was loving, but that she didn’t need His purpose for her life, and that she has things under control.
Speaking with Amy and getting to know her placed a fresh burden on my heart for the lost and to trust God to reach every student, on every campus, in every nation. Please pray that God would take the veil away from her eyes, and that she would recognize her need for Christ as savior and Lord of her life.
